Pamela Eyring is the President of The Protocol School of Washington®, the first company to offer business etiquette training and, today, the only nationally accredited business etiquette, image and international protocol school in the nation. Armed with more than two decades of operational protocol and educational development, Ms. Eyring brings in-depth knowledge and skill to the etiquette and protocol industry. Formerly the Chief of Protocol at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, (and the first civilian to hold the post), she planned and directed military, government, international and civic ceremonies, conferences, special events and Presidential visits. She was also the Executive Development Program Manager for the Education and Training Branch of Headquarters Personnel.
Ms. Eyring has presented seminars and briefings to international corporate and government executives, Fortune 500 companies, academia and numerous government and industry organizations. She was named Washington Business Journal’s first monthly Biz Etiquette columnist and appears regularly in such media outlets as: Khaleej Times, UAE Today News, ARD German Radio and Television, Trinidad and Tobago Newsday, The Wall Street Journal, “O” The Oprah Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Washington Diplomat, Associated Press, Forbes.com, Entrepreneur.com, Inc.com, The Federal Times, Real Simple magazine, CNN, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, FOX-TV, AARP-TV, and ABC Radio Network. Ms. Eyring is an active member of Protocol & Diplomacy International – Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA), the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), International Public Management Association – Human Resources (IPMA-HR), and Meeting Professionals International (MPI). She also served on the Board of Directors of Business for Diplomatic Action, a nonpartisan organization working to engage U.S. businesses in efforts to improve the standing of America abroad.

Julie Blais Comeau is the coordinator for the Protocol for the Canadian Business Professional workshop and its' Personal Diplomacy, Body Language, and Decorum module instructor. Julie is recognized as a National Tourism Trainer by the Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council (CTHRC) and is a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington.
She is a professional speaker, a training and development consultant, as well as a sought-after media collaborator. Her numerous media appearances include BT Montreal, CTV Morning Live Ottawa, Entertainment Tonight Canada, CBC, Radio-Canada and TVA. She is the Huffington Post’s Sticky Situation blogger and has been quoted in numerous publications such as The Globe and Mail, Reader’s Digest and Elle Canada.

Karen Bryk, M.V.O.
Training Facilitator
Ms. Bryk is a Canadian protocol specialist who currently serves as Deputy Chief of Protocol for the Government of Manitoba in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. Ms. Bryk plays a vital role in the scheduling and arrangements for state, official, and private visits to Manitoba of VIPs such as the Royal Family, Governor General, Heads of State (Presidents), Prime Ministers, Ambassadors and High Commissioners, Consuls General, Parliamentarians, Senior Government Officials and Delegations.
She liaises with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Embassies, High Commissions, Consulates, Consular Corps, law enforcement agencies, military, judiciary, Chambers of Commerce, provincial protocol offices, and municipality officials. She also serves as a member of the Intergovernmental Affairs and Trade advance team for Premier’s Trade Missions.
She also assists in the planning and organization of ceremonial and hospitality occasions for the government, including the Opening of the Legislature, the Swearing - in ceremony for Lieutenant Governor and Members of Executive Council, and special Honors such as the Order of Manitoba and portrait and plaque unveilings.
Ms. Bryk formerly served for 11 years as Information and Cultural Services Officer with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Japan at the Consulate General of Japan in Winnipeg.
In 2000, Ms. Bryk served as a liaison officer for the first International War Affected Children’s Conference, (sponsored by the Government of Canada) whose participants included over 100 Foreign Ministers and Ambassadors.
In 2005, Ms. Bryk co-chaired the prestigious Health Sciences Centre Foundation’s Laureate of Excellence Award Dinner which honored Romeo Dallaire, Commander of the United Nations’ mission in Rwanda, for his humanitarian works. Ms. Bryk also participated/advised at the United Nations 60 events held in June 2005 in San Francisco.
In 2010, Ms. Bryk served as the Protocol Officer for the Manitoba Pavilion at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.
Ms. Bryk is a founding International Board Member for the Protocol and Diplomacy International Protocol Officers Association.
In October 2002, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II invested Ms. Bryk as a Member of the Royal Victorian Order for personal service to the sovereign. As a Member of the Victorian Order Ms. Bryk now carries the initials MVO after her surname.
Robert Hickey

Robert Hickey, Deputy Director of the Protocol School of Washington® has been with the School since its first training in 1988.
At Protocol Officer Training™ , Mr. Hickey presents on the use of titles and forms of address in official situations. Topics of discussion include: forms of address for private citizens; professionals and academics; federal, state, and municipal officials; armed services; diplomats and representatives to international organizations; foreign officials; royalty and nobility; and clergy. Also included are segments on: joint forms of address; introductions; courtesy titles; style and usage; and precedence.
Mr. Hickey has written, developed or contributed to many books, but his most recent project is as author of Honor & Respect: The Official Guide to Names, Titles, and Forms of Address (2008, The Protocol School of Washington®, ISBN 978-0-615-19806-4, foreword by Pamela Eyring). The book includes complete formulas for correspondence, outside and inside invitation envelopes, place cards, introductions, and even what to call the VIP in conversation or in a receiving line. The book’s 576 pages include formats for more officials in more organizations than any other book ever published. It includes sections on the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and more than 190 other countries. Of special note are sections on the officials of Native American Tribes (never before in print); and religious officials in every major religious group (many for the first time in print); a 70-page glossary; and a 1,500-entry index.
